I live in California and would like the see President Elect Barack Obama while he gives his historic speech live on television. I just don’t know exactly what time of the day it will be to watch it live in Los Angeles.

He will be sworn in at 8:56am Pacific time. According to the Constitution the President must be sworn in by noon on January 20th…so I guess the extra four minutes is in case someone runs long. Tune in early!!!

He takes the oath of office at noon Washington time, which is 9 AM California time. And given the fact that he talks a very long time, you should be prepared fo get comfy, Enjoy the inauguration. While California is struggling to balance its budge, Obama has planned the most expensive inauguration ever!

They are showing it at LA live right next to the Staples Center. His speech starts at 9am, but it’s opening at 7am for pre-ceremony events. We are probably going to be there.
